Mandy Madson (soprano) made her professional operatic debut in 2011, as Yum Yum in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado with the Asbury Memorial Theatre in Savannah, Georgia. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Mandy has recently become known in the Coastal Empire as a versatile singer and for her comedic timing. Ms. Madson has appeared as Amahl in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Cunégonde in Bernstein’s Candide, and Laetitia in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief.
In addition to operatic roles, Mandy enjoys musical theatre with her favorite performances including most recently, Les Misérables with the cast of The Historic Savannah Theatre, Side By Side By Sondheim at the Asbury Memorial Theatre, and as Carlotta in Yeston’s Phantom.
Mandy holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Brewton-Parker College where she was proudly awarded first place in both the T. N. Retif Voice Scholarship Competition in 2006 and the Virginia Chapman Voice Competition in 2009. She has also been an honored finalist in the 2007 Georgia NATS competition.
